For those of you who are new here, my name is Lizzie! I’m 23 years old, and I’m the owner and founder of Melanin and Moon Minerals

Melanin and Moon Minerals is so much more than a crystal shop to me. It’s a piece of my life, my creativity, my spirituality, and my journey. After everything I’ve experienced over the past few years, I think it’s finally time I tell you a little more about the person behind the business!

I’m physically disabled and live with an extremely rare and progressive form of Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease (CMT) and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). My conditions affect my peripheral nerves and have created challenges that impact nearly every part of my daily life

Growing up, I was told I might not live past the age of 13. And now, here I am at 23

That fact alone has shaped the way I look at life. I’ve learned that time is incredibly precious and that there’s no reason to wait for the “perfect” moment to pursue the things that make you happy. That mindset is a huge part of why Melanin and Moon Minerals exists

I’ve always loved rocks, minerals, and the science behind them. When I discovered crystals and eventually found my way into spirituality, I found something that gave me a different perspective on myself and the world around me. What started as a personal interest eventually became something much bigger

On March 11th, 2022, I officially started Melanin and Moon Minerals. Since then, this little dream of mine has grown in ways I never could have imagined

I’ve experienced incredible highs, overwhelming challenges, unexpected opportunities, and moments where I genuinely questioned whether I could keep going. I’ve learned what it means to run a business—to grow, to make mistakes, to adapt, and to keep showing up even when life doesn’t make it easy

And through all of that, one thing has remained the same: I want this business to feel like a safe, peaceful, loving little corner of the world

I want you to be able to find something that makes you smile. Something that speaks to you. Something that makes your space feel a little more like home

Whether you’re here for the crystals, the jewelry, the spiritual side of things, or simply because you love the community we’ve created together, you belong here

Every crystal I choose, every piece of jewelry I make, every order I pack, and every little detail I add is something I put genuine love and care into. This business has given me a sense of purpose, independence, and creativity that I’m incredibly grateful for
